约柜被迎接归回及撒母耳作士师

1 基列耶琳的人就来，将永恒主的柜接上去；他们把柜扛到山冈上亚比拿达家中；将他的儿子以利亚撒分别为圣、来看守永恒主的柜。
2那柜自从停在基列耶琳的日子以后，经过许多年日，有二十年，以色列全家都悲伤哀恸地仰望着永恒主。
3撒母耳对以色列全家说∶「你们若一心回转来归向永恒主，把外人的神从你们中间除掉，也除掉亚斯他录（即∶外国人的女神），立定心意归向永恒主，单单事奉他，他就援救你们脱离非利士人的手。」
4以色列人就除掉诸众巴力（即∶外国人的神）和亚斯他录（即∶外国人的女神），单单事奉永恒主。5撒母耳说∶「要把以色列众人集合在米斯巴，我好为你们祷告永恒主。」
6他们就集合在米斯巴，打水倒在永恒主面前；那一天禁食，在那里说∶「我们犯罪得罪了永恒主了。』撒母耳在米斯巴作士师拯救了以色列人。
7非利士人听见以色列人集合在米斯巴，非利士人的霸主们就上来要攻打以色列人；以色列人听见，就惧怕非利士人。
8以色列人对撒母耳说∶「愿你不静默地为我们哀呼永恒主我们的上帝救我们脱离非利士人的手。」
9撒母耳就把一只吃奶的羊羔做全燔祭献上给永恒主；撒母耳为以色列向永恒主哀呼，永恒主就应允他。
10撒母耳正献燔祭的时候，非利士人上前来要和以色列人争战；那一天永恒主以大雷的声音发雷霆，使非利士人溃乱，非利士人就在以色列人面前被击败，
11以色列人从米斯巴出来，追赶非利士人，击杀他们直到伯甲的下边。12撒母耳将一块石头安放在米斯巴与耶沙拿（传统∶作『善』）之间，给石头起名叫以便以谢（即∶帮助的石头），说∶「这是永恒主帮助我们的证据（传统∶到如今永恒主都帮助我们）。」
13 这样、非利士人就被制伏，没有再进以色列人的境界。尽撒母耳作士师的日子，永恒主的手总是攻打非利士人。
14非利士人从以色列人所取的城市、从以革伦直到迦特、都归还了以色列；属这些城的四境以色列人也都从非利士人手下夺回来。那时以色列人与亚摩利人之间和好无事。15尽撒母耳活着的日子、他都作以色列的士师。
16他年年去环游伯特利、吉甲、米斯巴、到这些地方为以色列人审案。
17 然后回到拉玛，因为他的家在那里；他也在那里为以色列人审案；他并且在那里给永恒主筑了一座祭坛。

约柜被迎接归回基列耶琳 (撒上7:1-2)
1 基列．耶琳人就来了，将耶和华的约柜接上去，抬到山上亚比拿达的家中，将他儿子以利亚撒分别为圣，看守耶和华的约柜。 2从约柜留在基列．耶琳的那天起，经过了许多日子，有二十年；以色列全家都哀哭归向耶和华。
基列．耶琳是森林城的意思，也就是暗示生命气息的更新兴旺。这是一个转机，从悖逆不顺从神转化成彻底认罪悔改归向神！不过这个转变不是一刹那间发生的，而是渐进式造成的。
住在基列．耶琳山上的以色列居民就下山把神的约柜迎接到山上去。那些抬约柜的以色列人应该是利未人，因为只有利未人才可以作抬约柜的工作。他们把约柜抬到亚比拿达的家。亚比拿达也必定是祭司，不然约柜不可能会放到他的家。此外他的儿子以利亚撒被特别分别出来专门作看守耶和华约柜的事工；他和其他兩個兒子烏撒和亚希约当然也都是祭司。一个人完全分别为圣属于神已经不容易，一家人，及一群基列耶琳人都同心合意尊神为大更是不容易！
约柜在亚比拿达家有二十年之久，在这么漫长的日子中神还是耐心等待以色列全家的认罪悔改归向神，与神重新建立起亲密的关系。这二十年撒母耳从12岁成长成为32岁，从一个孩子长大成为一个完全独立自主的成年人了！他不但作祭司的工作已经可以完全胜任，他也可以担当起神给他另外一个新的重任作以色列美好的士师了。
其实后来约柜离开亚比拿达家是远远超过二十年后的事，那是在大卫作以色列王时才把约柜从亚比拿达家搬到耶路撒冷去的。所以约柜在亚比拿达家差不多整整有一百年之久呢！约柜在不同地方的奔波这时候总算告一个段落了 (请参考约柜到不同地方奔波的图，最初及最后是在以色列民的手中，而中间有一段时间是在非利士人的控制之下)。经过这么长久的一段时间后所有以色列人才全部悔改认罪，归回耶和华的名下。
思考： 约柜最宝贵的地方是什么？你认为一个教会最宝贵的又是什么？身为教会的成员之一，你的事奉工作有些什么？你信主有多久了？你信主后是不是与这个所居住的世界有别？有没有把福音传给你未信的朋友们？
应用: 如果还没有在家中经常亲近神，请开始有固定家庭崇拜、祷告或灵修的一段时间，让全家与神的关系更亲近，不仅仅是在主日崇拜的那段时间而已。
撒母耳带领治理以色列民 (撒上7:3-17)
清除一切偶像而单单事奉耶和华 (撒上7:3-4)
3 撒母耳对以色列全家说： “你们若全心回转归向耶和华，就要从你们中间除掉外邦的神明和亚斯她录，预备你们的心归向耶和华，单单事奉他，他必救你们脱离非利士人的手。” 4以色列人就除掉诸巴力和亚斯她录，单单事奉耶和华。
撒母耳开始出道所做第一件的大事就是大扫除，在灵命大复兴前所必须要做的工作就是好好的把一切肮脏污秽清除得干干净净！他要以色列全家把以色列境内各种各样的偶像、怪力乱石完全清除得干干净净！包括迦南人所拜，各种各样的巴力 (外邦人的神明) 和亚斯她录 (巴力之妻，淫乱性的女神)。
然后让他们已经打扫干净、无瑕无耻的心专一无条件的接受耶和华作他们的独一真神、单单敬拜事奉祂！如果他们这么做，神就会搭救他们脱离非利士人经常的干扰，不再受非利士人的影响。
以色列人就照着撒母耳所吩咐他们的去做了，先悔改认罪把里里外外的污秽肮脏清除得干干净净，然后接受耶和华作他们独一无二的真神、敬拜祂、事奉祂。
思考: 自己里里外外有没有需要清除干净的事项？有没有属灵的好伙伴作你这时的帮助？
应用: 请好好作一次自己大扫除的工作，把神所不喜悦的过犯罪恶、思想意念清除干净。
撒母耳呼求耶和华拯救以色列民 (撒上7:5-11)
5 撒母耳说： “要召集以色列众人到米斯巴去，我好为你们向耶和华祷告。” 6他们就聚集在米斯巴，打水浇在耶和华面前。当日他们禁食，说： “我们得罪了耶和华。” 撒母耳在米斯巴审判以色列人。 7非利士人听见以色列人聚集在米斯巴，非利士的领袖就上来要攻击以色列。以色列人听见，就惧怕非利士人。 8色列人对撒母耳说： “愿你不住为我们呼求耶和华－我们的上帝，救我们脱离非利士人的手。”9撒母耳就把一只吃奶的羔羊献给耶和华作全牲的燔祭，为以色列人呼求耶和华，耶和华就应允他。 10撒母耳正献燔祭的时候，非利士人前来要与以色列争战。当日，耶和华打雷，发出极大的声音，使非利士人溃乱，他们就败在以色列面前。 11以色列人从米斯巴出来，追赶非利士人，击杀他们，直到伯．甲的下边。
米斯巴是撒母耳的守望楼，他在守望楼为以色列人守望祷告，直到神应允他。
首先撒母耳召集以色列众人到米斯巴去，他好为以色列全体向神代求。这是全体一致的参与。
然后他们打水浇在耶和华面前，表示倾心的悔改认罪、把自己完全地洗干净成为圣洁，就好象今天我们被活水 (圣灵) 的浇灌、完全被神所拥有一样。
接着看到他们的真心诚意有实际上的行动，就是禁食彻底的认罪。
还有触犯别人的过犯则由撒母耳作审判官来断定是非作适当的赔赏。
此外献羔羊作燔祭，呼求耶和华帮助他们解决危机。
神听到撒母耳的祷告而应允了他们的呼求。
非利士人前来要与以色列人争战，神使非利士人大大地溃败直到伯甲的下边。
神为他们争战，“当日，耶和华大发雷声，惊乱非利土人，他们就败在以色列人面前。以色列人追杀敌人，直到伯甲的下边。
看到那么仔细、一步一步情况的更新，真是活神自己奇妙的工作！不得不惊叹我们这位又真又活神的伟大无限！
思考: 一个真正属灵的领袖所关心的是羊群灵里面的茁壮成熟，你是不是追求灵命一天一天的更新？参加过教会的祷告会？参加过培灵会后，有什么改变？你试过禁食祷告吗 ？
应用: 如果还没有参加过教会的祷告会，请参加一次，品尝与神亲近的好时光。如果从来没有禁食祷告过，请试试看。
耶和华帮助以色列夺回土地 (撒上7:12-14)
12 撒母耳拿一块石头立在米斯巴和善的中间，给石头起名叫以便．以谢，说： “到如今耶和华都帮助我们。” 13因此，非利士人被制伏了，不再入侵以色列境内。撒母耳有生之年，耶和华的手攻击非利士人。 14非利士人所夺取以色列的城镇，从以革伦直到迦特，都归回以色列了。以色列也从非利士人手中收回这些城所属的地界。那时以色列与亚摩利人和平相处。
撒母耳把一块石头放立在米斯巴和善的中间，取名叫以便以谢，就是得救的磐石、到如今耶和华都帮助的意思。这个磐石的作用是多方面的：首先是有纪念性的价值、提醒以色列民神是值得信赖的；第二，有作见证的作用，是神自己为以色列人作战大胜非利士人；第三，要感恩，是神极大的恩典把那么大的地盘归回以色列民为业；第四，有警告的作用，耶和华是唯一值得信靠的，要他们不要再度陷入拜偶像、离弃真神的光景当中。
这次神为以色列人争战的有效期间相当的长远，接近50年之久 (撒母耳有生之年)。而所包括的土地也相当广阔，被非利士人夺取所有以色列地都被归还了。此外以色列人还与邻居亚摩利人和平相处，没有争闹呢！
思考: 你有什么纪念品让你十分珍惜的？为什么？神在你或你家的恩典，你愿意与别人分享吗？有没有经历过你与神同行的亲密关系？如果有，是在什么情况下发生的？这种美好的回忆，有没有机会与未信的福音朋友分享？让他们也体会到那种品尝到主恩的滋味？你在什么时候会提高你的警觉性？或者是要你的属灵伙伴来提醒你？你有没有相当长一段时间都处在出人意外的平安与喜乐的境界当中？回想起来，可能是因为哪些因素造成的呢？你觉得在心灵上，有哪些比物质上的丰富更宝贵的？
应用: 如果有一样纪念品能提醒帮助你对神的敬拜、感恩，请马上设法取得，让你的灵命可以更迅速的增长。
撒母耳作士师、在各地审判以色列并筑坛 (撒上7:15-17)
15 撒母耳一生作以色列的士师。 16他每年巡行到伯特利、吉甲、米斯巴，在这些地方审判以色列人。 17随后他回到拉玛，因为他的家在那里；他在那里审判以色列人，并且在那里为耶和华筑了一座坛。
撒母耳一生作以色列的士师有相当长的一段时间，从32岁开始到80岁为止共有48年那么长的时间。他是以色列最后的一位士师，也是非常专一、忠心的一位士师。他每年会到伯特利 (神的殿的意思)、吉甲 (转离，可指转离罪恶)、米斯巴 (守望楼，作祷告之用) 这些地方为当地的以色列民作审判官。然后回到自己的家乡拉玛 (高地的意思)。其实他不仅仅是作审判官的工作，并且是一位属灵的领袖，激励起以色列民对属灵方面的饥渴、灵命上的成长。所以他在自己的家乡高高在上之地为耶和华筑了一座祭坛，作为以色列人经常能够上山敬拜神的地方。
思考: 自己有没有忠心一意的事奉神？你怎么能知道自己的专一不二呢？自己的家人又如何？对我们的左邻右舍有没有产生积极的影响力？
应用: 请思想你怎么能够让自己的家人灵命成长，而开始实践一、二项可以看到成果的项目。譬如设立家庭祭坛或固定的称颂、赞美、读经、祷告的时间。

And the men of Kiriath-jearim came and took up the ark of the Lord and brought it to the house of Abinadab on the hill. And they consecrated his son Eleazar to have charge of the ark of the Lord. 2 From the day that the ark was lodged at Kiriath-jearim, a long time passed, some twenty years, and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord.
Samuel Judges Israel
3 And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.” 4 So the people of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and they served the Lord only.
5 Then Samuel said, “Gather all Israel at Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord for you.” 6 So they gathered at Mizpah and drew water and poured it out before the Lord and fasted on that day and said there, “We have sinned against the Lord.” And Samuel judged the people of Israel at Mizpah. 7 Now when the Philistines heard that the people of Israel had gathered at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the people of Israel heard of it, they were afraid of the Philistines. 8 And the people of Israel said to Samuel, “Do not cease to cry out to the Lord our God for us, that he may save us from the hand of the Philistines.” 9 So Samuel took a nursing lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. And Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him. 10 As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to attack Israel. But the Lord thundered with a mighty sound that day against the Philistines and threw them into confusion, and they were defeated before Israel. 11 And the men of Israel went out from Mizpah and pursued the Philistines and struck them, as far as below Beth-car.
12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said, “Till now the Lord has helped us.” 13 So the Philistines were subdued and did not again enter the territory of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel. 14 The cities that the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel,from Ekron to Gath, and Israel delivered their territory from the hand of the Philistines. There was peace also between Israel and the Amorites.
15 Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life. 16 And he went on a circuit year by year to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah. And he judged Israel in all these places. 17 Then he would return to Ramah, for his home was there, and there also he judged Israel. And he built there an altar to the Lord.

1And they did. The men of Kiriath Jearim came and got the Chest of God and delivered it to the house of Abinadab on the hill. They ordained his son, Eleazar, to take responsibility for the Chest of God. 2From the time that the Chest came to rest in Kiriath Jearim, a long time passed - twenty years it was - and throughout Israel there was a widespread, fearful movement toward God. 3 Then Samuel addressed the house of Israel: "If you are truly serious about coming back to God, clean house. Get rid of the foreign gods and fertility goddesses, ground yourselves firmly in God, worship him and him alone, and he'll save you from Philistine oppression." 4They did it. They got rid of the gods and goddesses, the images of Baal and Ashtoreth, and gave their exclusive attention and service to God.
5Next Samuel said, "Get everybody together at Mizpah and I'll pray for you." 6So everyone assembled at Mizpah. They drew water from the wells and poured it out before God in a ritual of cleansing. They fasted all day and prayed, "We have sinned against God." So Samuel prepared the Israelites for holy war there at Mizpah. The Place Where God Helped Us 7When the Philistines heard that Israel was meeting at Mizpah, the Philistine leaders went on the offensive. Israel got the report and became frightened - Philistines on the move again! 8They pleaded with Samuel, "Pray with all your might! And don't let up! Pray to God, our God, that he'll save us from the boot of the Philistines."
9Samuel took a young lamb not yet weaned and offered it whole as a Whole-Burnt-Offering to God. He prayed fervently to God, interceding for Israel. And God answered. 10While Samuel was offering the sacrifice, the Philistines came within range to fight Israel. Just then God thundered, a huge thunderclap exploding among the Philistines. They panicked -mass confusion! - and ran helter-skelter from Israel. 11Israel poured out of Mizpah and gave chase, killing Philistines right and left, to a point just beyond Beth Car.
12Samuel took a single rock and set it upright between Mizpah and Shen. He named it "Ebenezer" (Rock of Help), saying, "This marks the place where God helped us." 13 The Philistines learned their lesson and stayed home - no more border crossings. God was hard on the Philistines all through Samuel's lifetime. 14All the cities from Ekron to Gath that the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored. Israel also freed the surrounding countryside from Philistine control. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15Samuel gave solid leadership to Israel his entire life. 16Every year he went on a circuit from Bethel to Gilgal to Mizpah. He gave leadership to Israel in each of these places. 17But always he would return to Ramah, where he lived, and preside from there. That is where he built an altar to God.
