最後的問安與勉勵

保羅雖然從來沒有去過羅馬教會,但並不表示他不認識裡面的弟兄姐妹。所以在信尾的地方他開始題名問候他所認識的人。

I. 舉薦非比—女執事(1-2)

16:1我對你們舉薦我們的姊妹非比、他是堅革哩教會中的女執事.

16:2請你們為主接待他、合乎聖徒的體統.他在何事上、要你們幫助、你們就幫助他.因他素來幫助許多人、也幫助了我。

1『舉薦我們的姊妹非比』

他首先推薦(舉薦recommend)非比。用書信推薦人是當時常見的作法,根據該人的表現加以推薦,就像現在人寫推薦信一樣。(林後3:1我們豈是又舉薦自己麼.豈像別人、用人的薦信給你們、或用你們的薦信給人麼。)信徒往往會為在外地旅遊的人寫推薦信,讓他們在陌生的地方可以得到當地教會的接待。

『堅革哩教會』

堅革哩在哥林多東南,也算該市的港口,兩地的教會可能有所來往。保羅知道堅革哩教會的女執事非比要到羅馬去,所以寫這封信請她帶去。

2『合乎聖徒的體統in a manner worthy of the saints』

就是『與聖徒相配的態度』。基督徒要在主裡熱情的接待客旅,特別是主內的肢體,才符合信徒的身份。(12:13聖徒缺乏要幫補.客要一味的款待。)保羅稱讚這位女執事幫助了許多人,包括他自己,所以他請求羅馬教會也按著她的需要來幫助她。當然合乎聖徒體統的事有許多,並不是只有接待主內的肢體,還有其他該做的事。參弗4:1-3。

II. 題名問安—27人 (3-16)

16:3問百基拉和亞居拉安.他們在基督耶穌裡與我同工、

16:4也為我的命、將自己的頸項、置之度外.不但我感謝他們、就是外邦的眾教會、也感謝他們.

16:5又問在他們家中的教會安。問我所親愛的以拜尼土安.他在亞西亞是歸基督初結的果子。

16:6又問馬利亞安.他為你們多受勞若。

16:7又問我親屬與我一同坐監的安多尼古和猶尼亞安.他們在使徒中是有名望的、也是比我先在基督裡。

16:8又問我在主裡面所親愛的暗伯利安。

16:9又問在基督裡與我們同工的耳巴奴、並我所親愛的士大古安。

16:10又問在基督裡經過試驗的亞比利安。問亞利多布家裡的人安。

16:11又問我親屬希羅天安。問拿其數家在主裡的人安。

16:12又問為主勞苦的士非拿氏和士富撒氏安。問可親愛為主多受勞苦的彼息氏安。

16:13又問在主蒙揀選的魯孚和他母親安.他的母親就是我的母親。

16:14又問亞遜其士、弗勒干、黑米、八羅巴、黑馬、並與他們在一處的弟兄們安。

16:15又問非羅羅古、和猶利亞、尼利亞和他姊妹、同阿林巴、並與他們在一處的眾聖徒安。

16:16你們親嘴問安、彼此務要聖潔。基督的眾教會都問你們安。

底下從第三至十六節中,保羅向羅馬教會中許多的弟兄姐妹問安。這些人過去曾與他同工,所以他每提到一位時,都回想當年的情景。顯然初期教會弟兄姊妹們常常彼此同工配搭。這些人有的只在這裡出現,因此我們對他們的事跡不是很清楚。

3『百基拉和亞居拉』

百基拉(妻)和亞居拉(夫)是保羅初到哥林多傳福音時的親密同工(徒18:1-2這事以後、保羅離了雅典、來到哥林多。遇見一個猶太人、名叫亞居拉、他生在本都.因為革老丟命猶太人都離開羅馬、新近帶著妻百基拉、從義大利來.保羅就投奔了他們)。曾一起事奉一年半之久。

4『將自己的頸項、置之度外risked their necks』

這對夫婦為了幫助保羅傳福音,甚至將自己的性命置之度外。因著他們的同工,福音得以廣傳,讓多人得救。因此不但保羅感謝他們,外邦的信徒也感謝他們。

5『他們家中的教會』

這對夫婦無論走到那裡,都開放家庭,給弟兄姐妹聚會(參徒18:26他(亞波羅)在會堂裡放膽講道。百基拉亞居拉聽見,就接他來,將神的道給他講解更加詳細)。他們很清楚的知道他們所擁有的一切都是從神而來的,也應該為主使用。

我曾經在親友之間傳福音嗎?為主作過見證嗎?

我曾經因為領人歸主而蒙他們感謝嗎?我可以隨時傳福音、作見證嗎?

如果可行,我願意開放自己的家作為聚會之用嗎?

『以拜尼土…在亞西亞是歸基督初結的果子』
以拜尼土是希臘文名字,他可能是外邦人,保羅稱他為『親愛的』,可見他們的關係很好,他是亞西亞最早歸主的人之一(初結的果子)。

6『馬利亞』
是常見的猶太女子之名。『她為你們多受勞苦』,可能指她極力的服事聖徒。

7『安多尼古和猶尼亞』
可能是一對夫妻,保羅稱他們為親屬kinsmen,可能是有血統關係,也可能因為他們是猶太人,曾和保羅一同坐過監。根據他們的名字,他們可能是屬於羅馬皇帝該撒家裏的人或家奴。他們『在使徒中是有名望的outstanding among the apostles』,可能指他們受到使徒的尊敬,或是他們本身是傑出的使徒。如果是後者,可見當時的使徒不只十二使徒以及保羅和巴拿巴等人而已。他們比保羅先信主(先在基督裡),所以他們可能是五旬節時彼得講道的時候信主的。由於是忠心的信徒,到處傳福音,因此可能為此而入獄,曾經與保羅同監。另有人認為他以及這裡提到的其他與保羅一同坐監的人,只是『陪同坐監』,陪同的人並無罪名,而且可以隨時更換,任何好友均可『陪監』,這是羅馬帝國法律所准許的。

8-9『暗伯利、耳巴奴、士大古』
暗伯利是當時常見的奴隸名,因此他可能是得自由的奴隸。耳巴奴和士大古可能也都是得自由的奴隸,信主之後與保羅關係親密,所以保羅稱他們為『在主裡面所親愛的,所同工的』,如同阿尼西母一樣。

10『亞比利、亞利多布』
亞比利是常見的名字,『在基督裡經過考驗approved in Christ』可能指他曾受逼迫,卻表現了對主的忠心,被主所稱許。
亞利多布可能是大希律(在耶穌出生時屠殺伯利恒嬰孩的暴君)的孫兒,也就是曾繼承王位的希律亞基帕一世的弟弟,似乎生於羅馬,死於羅馬。亞利多布家裡的人,是指他家中的成員,包括奴僕在內。保羅未問候他本人,有人推測這人可能不是基督徒,亦可能他已過世。

11『希羅天Herodion、希律Herod』
希羅天與希律之名的關係就像基督徒和基督一樣,因此有可能是屬希律的人,也許是猶太人,故保羅稱他是親屬,就像安多尼古和猶尼亞一樣。『拿其數家在主裡的人』,當時革老丟皇帝手下有位得自由的奴隸名叫拿其數,可能就是這位拿其數。他很富有,可能這人家中有不少成員信了主。

12『為主勞苦的土非拿氏、土富撒氏、可親愛為主多受勞苦的彼息氏』
土非拿、土富撒從原文看,兩個名字從一個字而來,很可能是姊妹,甚至是孿生姊妹。她們的名字具有華美、優雅的含意,是與貴族階層相稱的名字。因此她們極有可能出身貴族。保羅稱他們為主勞苦(workers in the Lord)。這三個名字在當時的人名中頗為常見。彼息氏為『可親愛為主多受勞苦』(has worked hard in the Lord),一般基督徒都愛她,她曾為主多受勞苦。這裡用完成式,因此可能她已年紀老邁,無法再服事眾人。

我為主勞苦嗎?我為主做了哪些事情?

我願意將來被主稱許是為他勞苦的人嗎?

13『蒙揀選的魯孚和他母親』
這位魯孚的父親可能就是當年被羅馬兵徵召來替耶穌背十字架的西門(可15:21有一個古利奈人西門、就是亞力山大和魯孚的父親、從鄉下來、經過那地方、他們就勉強他同去、好背著耶穌的十字架。)似乎他在羅馬教會中頗受敬重,『蒙揀選的』表明他有美好的事奉。他的母親可能曾對保羅十分照顧,所以保羅視她為『我的母親』。

14『亞遜其土、弗干、黑米、羅巴、黑馬』
這五個名字是當時常見的奴隸名。可能都得了釋放。『並與他們在一處的弟兄們』,這些人可能組成了一個弟兄會,也許都是從奴隸得釋放的人。

15『非羅羅古和猶利亞、尼利亞和他姊妹、同阿林巴』
非羅羅古和猶利亞兩人可能是夫妻或兄妹,是當時王室的奴隸中常見的名字。尼利亞和他姊妹、以及阿林巴,也可能屬同一類人。
『與他們在一處的眾聖徒』
可能指這些人經常在一起,彼此分享交通。從這些名字當中可以看出大部分都原本是奴隸。可見保羅在哥林多前書所說的1:26弟兄們哪、可見你們蒙召的、按著肉體有智慧的不多、有能力的不多、有尊貴的也不多。的確是當時大部分教會的寫照。
從這些問安中(8-9在主裡面所親愛的,所同工的;14與他們在一處的弟兄們)可以看出,當時的羅馬教會中完全沒有種族、階級歧視的問題。教會真的就像一個大家庭,神是我們的天父,弟兄姐妹彼此之間相親相愛,充分彰顯了在基督裡成為一體的真理。
當然人都有罪性,因此也不可能每一個教會都那麼完美。在雅各書中我們就可以看到那時的猶太人的教會中,仍然有以貌取人,嫌貧重富的現象。參雅2:1-13。聖經將好壞的榜樣都記下,正是要讓我們學習擇其善者而從之,其不善者而改之。
我覺得教會是什麽?是聚會的場所?是交流的地方?是神的家?
我對不同的弟兄姐妹是否有區分?我將所有的基督徒都看成一家人嗎?

16『親嘴問安、彼此務要聖潔with a holy kiss』
親嘴是當時社會上表達問候的動作,通常以面頰相碰。保羅曾在林前16:20,林後13:12,帖前5:26等處,同樣提到類似的兩句話。聖潔(從世界中分別出來)表示基督徒的問候是與世界不同,是在主裡面的問候。由這句話可見當時社會的親嘴已經不完全是問安的意思了,可能還參雜了一些不好的意味在裡面。最後保羅代表基督的眾教會向他們問安。
在問安之後,保羅可能又想起某些重要的事情還沒有交待,所以他再加上最後的勸勉與祝福。

III. 留心假師傅 (17-20)

16:17弟兄們、那些離間你們、叫你們跌倒、背乎所學之道的人、我勸你們要留意躲避他們。

16:18因為這樣的人不服事我們的主基督、只服事自己的肚腹.用花言巧語、誘惑那些老實人的心。

16:19你們的順服、已經傳於眾人、所以我為你們歡喜.但我願意你們在善上聰明、在惡上愚拙。

16:20賜平安的神、快要將撒但踐踏在你們腳下。願我主耶穌基督的恩、常和你們同在。

17『留意躲避他們』
首先就是要他們留心假師傅。本節的原文裡『我勸你們』是擺在句首。保羅提醒他們要留意那些離間他們的人,就是那些製造紛爭(離間cause divisions),使人跌倒(put obstacles)的人,因為他們分裂了基督的身體,以致於違背了福音真理(所學之道)。保羅要他們躲避這樣的人,就是不與他們來往。

18『不服事我們的主基督、只服事自己的肚腹』
服事我們的主基督(slaves of Christ)即是基督的奴僕,凡事聽從他的命令。保羅指出,這些人不服事主基督(不按著祂的命令去行),只服事肚腹(只重視追求物質上的享受。參腓3:19他們的結局就是沉淪、他們的神就是自己的肚腹、他們以自己的羞辱為榮耀、專以地上的事為念。)他們口舌便給,能言善道(花言巧語,奉承迎合smooth and flattering speech),誘惑那些天真、不懂分辨的人(老實人naive)。
基督徒不是生活在溫室中的花朵。事實上,我們乃是每時每刻都在戰鬥當中。因為這個世界乃是魔鬼掌權的世界,他是世界的王(約12:31, 14:30, 16:11),世上所有敵對神的事情都是他在背後推動。因此我們『並不是與屬血氣的爭戰,乃是與那些執政的、掌權的、管轄這幽暗世界的,以及天空屬靈氣的惡魔爭戰。』(弗6:12)神要我們在屬靈的層面上成長,『在真道上同歸於一,認識神的兒子,得以長大成人,滿有基督長成的身量,使我們不再作小孩子,中了人的詭計和欺騙的法術,被一切異教之風搖動,飄來飄去,就隨從各樣的異端。』(弗4:13-14)在這個彎曲悖謬的世代,我們真的必須要靈巧像蛇,馴良像鴿子,才能逃避魔鬼的網羅。(太10:16我差你們去,如同羊進入狼群;所以你們要靈巧像蛇,馴良像鴿子。)
我有能力分辨假師傅嗎?假師傅的特點是什麼?
我對世界的看重是否超過基督?我如何才能將基督看為至寶?

19『你們的順服、已經傳於眾人』
羅馬教會順服的美名遠播,所以保羅為他們歡喜。但他希望他們不是盲目的順服,不管誰說的都相信,而是能夠分辨善惡。『在善上聰明』就是不斷靠著智慧行善。所謂的善不是一般人認為的修橋鋪路,而是符合神旨意的事情,因為神是一切美善的源頭。『在惡上愚拙』,就是說對惡事要毫不沾染,甚至一竅不通。而所謂的惡就是一切不討神喜悅的事情。愚拙就是單純的意思,與太10:16『馴良』,腓2:15的『誠實無偽』為同一字。參林前14:20在心志上不要作小孩子,然而在惡事上要作嬰孩,在心志上總要作大人。
我是一個順服的人嗎?我最不順服的地方是哪裡?
善是什麼?惡是什麼?我生活中善事多還是惡事多?

20『神快要將撒但踐踏在你們腳下』
雖然惡者猖狂,信徒受逼迫,但保羅深信神會快快地將撒但壓碎(踐踏)在他們腳下(crush Satan under your feet),就是神最後的勝利已然在望。他用『賜平安』來描寫神(God of peace),因為當時信徒在受逼迫的環境下,平安正是每一個人都需要的恩典。今天更是如此。世界各地都有天災人禍,我們居住的社會也是暴力頻仍,人人都缺乏安全感。這個時候有主的平安同在是何等大的福氣!

『願我主耶穌基督的恩常和你們同在』,這是保羅常用的祝福語。我們需要時時活在主的恩典之中。

IV. 同工的問安—8人 (21-24)

16:21與我同工的提摩太、和我的親屬路求、耶孫、所西巴德、問你們安。

16:22我這代筆寫信的德丟、在主裡面問你們安。

16:23那接待我、也接待全教會的該猶、問你們安。

16:24城內管銀庫的以拉都、和兄弟括土、問你們安。

21『提摩太、路求、耶孫、所西巴德』
保羅自己問安之後,接下來就是是他的同工向羅馬教會問安。可見本書信不僅僅是保羅的一封私人信件,當時哥林多教會裡面的同工也在旁邊服事幫助保羅。提摩太是保羅在主裡面的真兒子(提前1:2),也是他最親密的同工。保羅將路求、耶孫、所西巴德列為親屬,可能都是猶太人,他們也都問羅馬教會安。(徒13:1提到的路求可能不是同一人。徒17:5提到耶孫,屬帖撒羅尼迦教會。徒20:4提到所巴特,就是所西巴德,屬庇哩亞教會。後兩者可能是這裡提到的兩個人。)

22-23『德丟、該猶』
德丟是拉丁名,是替保羅執筆寫羅馬書的人。這在當時是很普遍的做法。該猶是保羅給他施洗的哥林多信徒。(林前1:14我感謝神、除了基利司布並該猶以外、我沒有給你們一個人施洗。)當地教會在他家聚會,他也接待保羅(接待我、也接待全教會)。參徒18:8管會堂的基利司布和全家都信了主。還有許多哥林多人聽了,就相信受洗。可能該猶是基利司布家裡的人。

24『以拉都、括土』
以拉都是管理哥林多城銀庫(市保險庫)的人,可見基督徒在哥林多城已有相當的影響力。括土生平不詳,可能與羅馬教會的弟兄姊妹認識,所以也問候他們。

V. 最後的祝福 (25-27)

16:25惟有神能照我所傳的福音、和所講的耶穌基督、並照永古隱藏不言的奧秘、堅固你們的心。

16:26這奧秘如今顯明出來、而且按著永生神的命、藉眾先知的書指示萬國的民、使他們信服真道。

16:27願榮耀因耶穌基督歸與獨一全智的神、直到永遠。阿們。

25『所傳的福音、和所講的耶穌基督』

這兩件事其實是一樣的意思,因為福音的內容就是耶穌基督。參羅1:2-3這福音是神從前藉眾先知在聖經上所應許的,論到他兒子-我主耶穌基督。在羅馬書裡,保羅將他所傳的福音、和所講的耶穌基督作了系統性深入完整的討論。『奧秘』並不是某種深奧難明的理論、學說,而是某件事被遮蓋住,人不知道裡面是什麼,如同舞台上的布幔將舞台上的場景遮住一樣。一旦布幔被打開,裡面的情形就清楚顯明在人面前。

『永古隱藏不言kept secret for long ages past』
表示這個奧秘以前被神遮住,沒有顯明。如今神藉著使徒們將這永古隱藏不言的奧秘,按著神的啟示—聖經—傳講出來,就是神藉著耶穌基督拯救世人,不至滅亡,反得永生(參下節)。神能按著這樣的傳講使信徒的內心堅固不移,不畏任何苦難與反對,因為這奧秘帶著永生的盼望。

26『這奧秘如今顯明出來』

本節也可以翻作『這奧秘如今按著永生神的命、藉眾先知的書顯明出來、使萬國的民可以信服真道』。這奧秘就是萬國的民可以因信基督而得救,並且在基督裡成為一體。(參弗3:6這奧秘就是外邦人在基督耶穌裡、藉著福音、得以同為後嗣、同為一體、同蒙應許。)這件事是眾先知所預言的,更是永生神的命令,至終必全然實現。信服真道obedience of faith,即屬於信心的順服。一個真信心必定有行為表現出來,就是順服基督的命令而遵行。

我傳福音、作見證的時候是以基督為中心嗎?永古隱藏不言的奧秘是什麼?

這奧秘使我內心堅固不移嗎?我因此信服真道嗎?

27『歸與獨一全智的神only wise God』

保羅最後以一段頌詞作結束:願榮耀因耶穌基督歸與獨一全智的神,直到永遠,阿們。獨一全智的神only wise God說明只有神是智慧的,其他所有被造之物在神面前都沒有資格自稱是有智慧。這智慧正是在福音上彰顯出來。參林前1:21世人憑自己的智慧,既不認識上帝,神就樂意用 人所當作愚拙的道理拯救那些信的人;這就是神的智慧了。

12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord.
13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too.
14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the other brothers and sisters with them.
15 Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas and all the Lord’s people who are with them.
16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings.
17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.
19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
21 Timothy, my co-worker, sends his greetings to you, as do Lucius, Jason and Sosipater, my fellow Jews.
22 I, Tertius, who wrote down this letter, greet you in the Lord.
23 Gaius, whose hospitality I and the whole church here enjoy, sends you his greetings. Erastus, who is the city’s director of public works, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings. [24] [e]
25 Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past,

4 who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks but all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks as well.
5 Greet also the church in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was the first convert[b] to Christ in Asia.

19 For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil.
20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
